The Dog show
THE CANINE EXPOSURES HAVE 2 ESSENTIAL GOALS:
TYPES Of EXPOSURES
The canine exposures making it possible to compare the morphology of the dogs presented, they are judged in the classes where they are gathered by race of course, but also by sex and category of age. A special class gathers the titular dogs of the imposed rewards of work. - CLASS BEGINNERS: for the old dogs from 9 to 12 months. It does not give right to attribution of a qualifier and does not give place to a classification. The judge formulates just an appreciation on the dog: very promising, promising, rather promising. - CLASS OF YOUNG PEOPLE: for the old dogs from 12 to 18 months. This class can give right to attribution of the excellent qualifier but not to the CACS. - OPEN CLASS: for dogs having 12 months in National Exposure or 15 month into International. This class gives right to attribution of the CACS (and of the CACIB if it is concerned). - CLASS OF WORK: for dogs answering the criteria of the open class and holders of a notebook of work mentioning the rewards required (Very Good or BICP). This class gives right to attribution of the CACS (or of the CACIB). - CLASS CHAMPION OF BEAUTY: reserved for the declared dogs national champions of beauty of the Member States of the FCI or international champions of the FCI. It does not give right to attribution of the CACS.
TO ENGAGE IN EXPOSURE
The organizers of canine exposures, Regional Companies or Associations of Race, place at the disposal of interested sheets of engagement on which are reproduced all the information concerning demonstration (place, schedules, jury, payment, tariffs, etc.) The exhibitors must return their carefully filled out sheet; all the requested information is reproduced on the pedigree or the certificate of birth. A sheet is required by engagement in individual class. The amount of engagements must be joined. A photocopy of the certificate of vaccination against the rage must accompany the engagement of dogs coming from abroad or departments infected or declared threatened. The organizers reserve the right to refuse all engagements which they believe not to have to admit and to refund them. When engagement is accepted, the organizer sends to the exhibitor an acknowledgement of delivery with a number of inscription. This number will précèdera the name of the dog on the catalogue of the exposure and will be reproduced on the provided badge that the exhibitor must relate to him when it is presented on the boxing ring.
PREPARATION OF THE DOG
A good presentation in exposure requires a meticulous preparation. The dog will be judged in a very particular environment. It must be presented under its best day, in good condition of weight and hair. The dog must know to go in leaves, with the required paces. It must know to be held upright, motionless, right on its legs, the quite high head. The dog must be at ease in spite of crowd, the presence of other dogs very close to him, the most various noises. It must agree to be let “handle” by the judge, in particular for the examination of the teeth and, for the males, the checking of the presence of the testicles. A bad physical condition will deteriorate a proud port, a firm line of back or removed paces. What could be sadder than a dog than the Master must draw by leaves or who lie down exhausted, as of the stop? The stockbreeders, familiar of the exposures, are them also of good council. They can only wish that a dog of their affix be shown in his best state. For an exhibitor, a demonstration starts as of the day before. Before leaving its residence, it must check that it carries its paperboard of exhibitor or its acknowledgement of delivery of engagement, papers of its dog including the certificates of vaccination, a collar, one leaves, a brush for the hair and a mess tin for water. Except particular case, the presentation takes place the morning. The doors are well open before the beginning of the judgements but it should be provided that all the exhibitors arrive at the same time. The arrived first profit from the best parking spaces, escape from the congestions and the mob from the irritated latecomers. The careful exhibitor will have also any leisure to leave with his dog time to release itself from nature's needs apart from the framework for the exposure. After the presentation of papers of the dog and veterinary control, the exhibitor enquiert of the site of the cage which is reserved to him, of the boxing ring in which it will present his dog and must be with the listening of the calls indicating the passage of the classes. The dogs absent at the beginning of the judgement will not be examined thereafter. When its class is called, the exhibitor must present himself on his boxing ring with his dog leaves some and his hung numbered paperboard in a way visible with a clothing. He subjects himself then to the indications of the judge or his secretary of boxing ring while supervising his dog constantly. While entering on the boxing ring, the exhibitor accepts a priori the opinion of the judge, that either this one or flattering or in on this side its hopes, a bad behavior of the Master can only harm its dog. The judgements are without call and final as soon as marked.
PRESENT YOUR DOG…. NOT YOU!!!
Once on the boxing ring, never forget which it is your dog that the judge looks at, and not yourself. Never leave your dog of the eyes, you will always hear the indications which are given to you, and you do not let distract by the other dogs. Usually, the judge begins a class while making turn all the dogs in the direction reverses needles of a watch. The dogs are accustomed to environment before being judged individually. Hold your dog on the left, between the judge and you. Your number of exhibitor must, him also, visible being of the judge and the secretary. When the judge asks for a return ticket, advance and return on a quite right line in order to never “cover” your dog. With the return, you with a few meters of the judge stop and present your dog of profile for the examination in station. While turning, use to the maximum the perimeter of the boxing ring while cutting only the corners. You do not occupy of the other presenters and spectators (and of their comments). Take guard with the demonstrations of your familiar. Thinking well of making, they are likely to distract your dog which has many other reasons to be it…
And especially, BE CALM, YOUR DOG WILL BE IT.
Qualifiers and titles are the rewards of the dogs presented in exposure. The qualifiers are allotted according to the judgement during the exposure. They determine the value of the dog compared to the standard of the race.
- EXCEL
Qualifier
allotted to a dog approaching very close with the ideal standard the
race, presented in perfect condition, carrying out a harmonious and
balanced unit having “class” and a brilliant pace. The superiority of its qualities will have to dominate of small imperfections - VERY GOOD Qualifier allotted to a dog perfectly typified, balanced in its proportions, in good physical condition. It to him will be tolerated some venial but nonmorphological defects. It can reward only one dog for quality. - GOOD Qualifier allotted to a dog having the characteristics of the race but showing defects, provided that those are not crippling. - RATHER GOOD Qualifier allotted to a dog sufficiently typified without notorious qualities or not in physical condition. The dogs not answering the definitions above do not obtain any qualifier. In each class, the 4 best dogs are preceded, the others receiving their qualifier without classification. No the classification preceded for the beginners, who receive appreciations, without qualifier If the qualifiers are acquired at the end of the judgement, the titles giving access to that of champion: - certificate of aptitude for the international championship of beauty (CACIB) - certificate of aptitude for the championship of standard (CACS) are only proposed that after best classes individual contributed between them They must be approved by the FCI (CACIB) or SCC (CACS) The CACIB can be proposed only for one dog classified 1st excellent in opened class, work or champion with the proviso of being of exceptional merit. In the same way for the CACS, accessible in open class or work. If the classified dog 2nd is of quality equivalent to the winner, it can to him be granted the “reserve” (RCACIB or RCACS). RCACIB or RCACS can be converted into CACIB or CACS if gaining them cannot claim with the homologation because of their age or their origins. The title of international champion of beauty is decreed by the FCI with the dogs having obtained 2 CACIB in 2 countries under 2 judges different and a qualifier in a test from work A one year deadline and a day must pass between the first and the last distinction.
